Healing Team at Fairfield Grace - Starts on Last Sunday of October
It is with this religious heritage and these thoughts of discipleship in mind that we have begun to form a Healing Team at Fairfield Grace. On the last Sunday of the month, starting in October (Sunday, October 31st), the service will have a different ending. Instead of having our circle at the time of the blessing and sending forth, Pastor Cho will give the blessing and we will invite all those who wish to receive healing prayer to come forward to the front of the sanctuary, either to sit in the front pew or gather at the communion rail. We will have members of the healing team available to call on the power of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ and our loving God to send His healing touch to those and for those who would like to receive it. We hope and pray that God will help us all to grow in the knowledge and love of God, and open our hearts and our minds to the healing touch that He offers us every day of our lives in this world. All are welcome!
That was a movie many years ago—in the old Cold War days. But this time is it a date you do not want to miss. Put it on your calendar now. You want to be at Fairfield-Grace Church on Saturday November 13 at 3:00 to hear the St. Petersburg Men’s Ensemble. You may recall that we have been doing a Music For Missions concert in the fall of the year. In the past few years we have featured the Grandmas and Grandpas quartet and several solo performers. This year we are happy to have engaged the touring Russians from St. Petersburg. Tickets will be on sale after church starting October 24. We do have to pay these gentlemen a stipend to cover their touring expenses, but profits from our ticket sales will go to our Fairfield-Grace missions programs.

Saturday November 6 will be a most exciting day as we get to learn about Pastor Cho's trip to China and North/South Korea. In addition, Stephanie Macpherson, executive director of UM Army, will also join us to tell us about their combined mission trips for youth and adults. This will be a potluck dinner so please bring the normal salads, main courses, and desserts that our congregation does so very well. We will have a tremendous night so please do bring people from our community. See Felix Beriguete to sign up, and please coordinate your food items with Chef (Marge) Hood. We will accept an offering that night to support the backpack ministry, and the Council of Churches of Greater Bridgeport.
The Rebecca Circle will meet on Monday, October 25, at 7 p.m. in the Hood Parlor. This meeting is open to all ladies of the Church and we welcome newcomers. We look forward to seeing you there.
The Naomi Circle will meet on Wednesday, October 20th, at 10:30 am in Fellowship Hall. Rachel Bird will be our guest speaker. Rachel was a VIM Team member who spent this past summer in Cochabamba, Bolivia. I am sure we will find her experiences, while there, very interesting and informative. It would be nice if we had a good turnout to hear Rachel - so, please ladies, join us! Dorothy Albrecht will be our hostess for this meeting. Casseroles will be provided by Dorothy Albrecht, Hazel Aldrich and Leah Larsen. Salads will be provided by Pat Altieri, Marge Hood and Pat Vosburgh. For further information, or if you have any questions, please call Leah Larsen at 203-259-6095 or email AWLLDL@aol.com.
